EuroTempest acquired TSR from UCL Ventures in 2022, with the majority of the development team for TSR already working at EuroTempest. TSR is used by (re)insurers, humanitarian agencies, governments, energy and utilities, marine, tourism, aviation, transport, and agriculture.

What forecast lead times does EuroTempest provide?

EuroTempest and TSR provide event-based forecasts up to five days ahead, and seasonal forecasts months in advance.

Does EuroTempest provide historical, current, and forecast weather data?

Yes. EuroTempest provides historical weather data for claims assessment, real-time flood, freeze, and storm monitoring, short-range forecasts, and seasonal outlooks.

Can EuroTempest weather data support insurance claims?

Yes. EuroTempest provides weather validation reports and historical weather evidence for claims investigations.  Claims and Loss forecasts can help operational teams prepare for claims surge in specific areas. What is the best tool for historical weather claims assessments?

The Weather Validation Tool (WVT) provides historical weather data for a range of perils: gust, rainfall, flood, freeze, snow, lightning, and earthquake, for insurance claims and weather investigations. EuroTempest regularly confer with the Association of British Insurers (ABI), the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Met Office (UKMO) to ensure the definitions of perils are reviewed and in-line with industry expectations.

What regions does the Weather Validation Tool cover?

The standard Weather Validation Tool covers the United Kingdom. International validation services are available on request.

Is EuroTempest geospatial data available via API?

Yes. EuroTempest’s EuroTempest windstorm footprints, flood swaths, and TSR’s tropical cyclone datasets can be delivered through API integrations and automated workflows.
