At 9.30am on February 24th, 2017 EuroTempest released its post-event storm Doris footprint along with claims/loss estimates. Windstorm Thomas (also named Doris by the UKMO) swept across the UK, from North Wales to East Anglia, and then on into Belgium, Netherlands, Northern France and Germany.
The data, based on observations from 1,700 weather stations across Europe, is available to subscribers on the SpatialKey mapping application or in a range of formats suitable for integration with clients’ own analysis tools.
The storm caused severe disruption in the UK but less property damage than was expected. Some damage is reported across Northern Europe but again much less than was forecast.
